Since October of 2001, EXIT Skateshop has been working hard to provide its customers with a shop they are proud to call their own. Independently owned and operated by life long skateboarder and Philly-native Steve Miller, EXIT has become Philadelphia's premiere skateshop, offering a welcoming environment for patrons to get their hands on today's most unique and high-quality skateboard-related merchandise. Whether you've been skating since sideways mo hawks and jump ramps or you're just looking for the best shoes and apparel in the city, we're more than happy to help you find what you're looking for.
Perhaps even more important than the products EXIT offers is the fact that, since the beginning, we have been a driving force in the community, advocating the benefits of skateboarding as artistic expression and the dire need for safe environments for Philadelphia's youth. To achieve these ends, we've been working hand-in-hand with organizations like Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and local non-profits to transform under-utilized public space into Skateboard-friendly spaces. We are very proud to say that the first park of this kind Pops skatepark located in Fishtown was completed in the summer of 09' thanks to EXIT, and we're focused on continuing to build many more parks like Pops throughout the city in the very near future.
Additionally, EXIT recognizes the importance of the artistic community it comes from and is an integral part of. EXIT holds monthly art shows with local and skateboard industry artist, skate demos, contest, and the occasional live show. EXIT also sponsors a local monthly dance party (The Bounce at The Barbary with world-reknown DJs Emynd & Bo Bliz).
So, while EXIT is certainly capable of meeting all of your skateboard needs from hardware to apparel, ultimately, what makes EXIT so unique is that it is much more than just a place to buy a board and some Vans. It is a place committed to supporting and nurturing the community of skateboarding within Philadelphia.
